Matty T Wall Band supported by Scarlet’s Way – Friday Blues Blowout!
Are you ready for a big blues blowout ready to shake the very foundations at the Milk Bar? The super-heavy hitting Matty T Wall Band joins Scarlet’s Way on stage at the Milk Bar on Friday Feb 23rd for what is likely to be a rocket of a show. Bring your dancing shoes!
From sweet blues to gritty stomping blues beats, and now having eight nominations in the prestigious Independent Blues Awards in the USA and three back-to-back Number One Australian Blues albums, this is an artist you do not want to miss. Matty T Wall powers to the stage more motivated and addictively electric than ever with two rhythm legends of the scene, Ric Whittle and Leigh Miller and the latest Live album – LIVE DOWN UNDERGROUND. Featuring tonight Marie Lois Ruubz on keys. Matty and the band are fresh from wowing audiences on the east coast at festivals where they left an indelible mark, flooring audiences and prompting follow up headline spots.
A young man with an old soul: Matty is connected to music with a wealth of history as he distills a diversity of genres into his own blues-influenced soul, jazz and rock signature. His points of references are wide; he has studied and played a spectrum of styles including flamenco, swing jazz and funk, and he attests to a love for “heavier things” in his youth, bands like Metallica and Sepultura among them. But he remembers how the musicians he admired would honor the blues masters who came before them. And following the trail of Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn backwards, he was hooked. “I discovered Robert Johnson and he made the hair on the back of my neck stand up,” he remembers. “I got into the blues and have never gotten out of it.”
“I’ve been aware of Matty for a while now and have been a big fan”-Walter Trout
“I’ve watched as he’s gained in stature to become a major league blues-rocker” -Dave Hole
“I’m, sure everyone will love this. The guy is a picker”-Eric Gales
SCARLETT’S WAY are creating new fans at every turn, with their trademark southern, blues-inspired brand of music brings lashings of Americana, accompanied by polished overtones synonymous with modern day Nashville. After ending 2021 with their empowering single ‘Ride On’ hitting #7 on the AIR Independent Music charts alongside the likes of Jimmy Barnes and The Teskey Brothers – ‘WA Group of the year’ winners, Scarlet’s Way, started 2022 playing to sell-out crowds at Mullewa Muster and Beats in the Bay. At the beginning of 2023, their brand new self-titled album was released to glowing reviews, with their latest single release ‘Empire’ spending 2 consecutive weeks at #1 on the AMRAP Metro Charts. The band is now continuing a national tour which began in January with some amazing shows and festivals including Boyup Brook Country Music Festival, Tamworth Country Music Festival, opening for Kasey Chambers for the Cockburn Country Concert and being announced on the impressive Mandurah Country Music Festival line-up alongside Adam Brand, Beccy Cole, Shannon Noll and many more!
Catch both bands on stage at the Milk Bar, Friday Feb 23rd at 7pm.
Tickets $25 (+bf) presale or $35 on the door.
